Project Runway All Stars Season 1 was the first season of Project Runway spin-off series Project Runway: All Stars. It features 13 designers from seasons 1–8 of the original series with a new host, new judges and a new mentor. It premiered on Lifetime on January 5, 2012.

The winner was Season 8 runner up Mondo Guerra, who beat Season 1 fourth place Austin Scarlett and Season 8 fourth place Michael Costello into second and third place respectively. The winning prize was

Model Angela Lindvall serves as the host as well as a judge. Designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman are the other recurring judges for the all star series. Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles mentors the veteran designers. Guest judges include fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg, fictional character Miss Piggy, singer-actress Sutton Foster, model Miranda Kerr, and musician and producer Pharrell Williams.

Episode 1: Return to the Runway[]

Designers are to create an outfit based on a look they showed earlier in the episode. The materials are purchased from a 99 cent store, with a budget of $100. Senior vice president and fashion director of Neiman Marcus, Ken Downing was the guest judge this week.

Episode 2: A Night at the Opera[]

This weeks challenge is to create a gown for a night at the opera. The designers had a budget of $350 to purchase their materials from Mood. Known for their red carpet evening wear, this weeks guest judges were world famous designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka of Badgley Mischka.

Episode 3: Patterning for Piggy[]

In this weeks challenge they had to create a flamboyant cocktail dress for Miss Piggy.

Episode 4: Good Taste Tastes Good[]

This weeks challenge was to create a look inspired by a flavour of gelato for Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr. The designers were given only 6 hours, the shortest time in PR history and 30 minutes to shop for fabrics in "Mini Mood", which was set up in their designer lounge. As the winner of the last challenge, Michael had the privilege of selecting his flavour first.

Episode 5: Clothes Off Your Back[]

The challenge this week was to find a muse and use their clothing to create a new look. Taking to the streets on New York they had 30 minutes to convince total strangers to part with their clothes. Designers had a budget of $150 to convince people or to purchase additional fabrics and two days to complete the challenge. The guest judge this week was NHL star and fashion trendsetter Sean Avery.

Episode 6: Fashion Face-Off[]

At the start of the episode each designer picked a bag; in the bag was a luggage tag with a season on it. They were asked to create seasonal sportswear for a weekend getaway, and the designers with the same seasons were pitted against each other.

Episode 7: Puttin' on the Glitz[]

The designers head to Broadway and design an outfit for the actress Sutton Foster in the musical Godspell, who is portrayed as a rich girl. Sutton Foster also served as the guest judge for this weeks challenge, They had a budget of $200 and one day to complete the challenge.

The top three designs were made by Austin, Michael and Mondo. The bottom three designers were Kara, Kenley and Mila.

Episode 8: O! Say, Can You Sew?[]

The designers head to the United Nations Headquarters and were asked to design dresses that were inspired by the flags and culture of the country they chose.

Episode 9: When I Get My Dress In Lights[]

In this weeks challenge the designers created avant-garde outfits using lighting technology. The runway was also lit by blacklight to add an extra touch to the show. The guest judge for this week was musician and fashion designer Pharrell Williams and the winning design was featured in one of his productions.

Austin, Mondo and Kenley scored highly with the judges this week, while Jerell and Michael had the lowest scores.

Episode 10: Let's Get Down To Business[]

Original Airdate: March 8, 2012

For this weeks challenge the final four had to design a “timeless and feminine” ready-to-wear look for Nanette Lepore’s collection – and work with a coster to present a design and price out how much the dress cost to create in order to determine the budget. The winning look gets sold in Nanette Lepore stores, with all profits going to charity to save New York City’s Garment District.

Austin and Mondo both scored highly with the judges, while Michael and Kenley had the lower scores.
